Is the grass always greener on the other side? Typically, yes! This is not an illusion. It is simply a matter of perspective. When you look down upon grass, you tend to see the spaces between the blades, which is typically dirt or dead grass (not green). When you look over at grass from an angle, you will see mostly grass (green). The result is that the grass appears greener on the other side.

Within this knowledge lies great wisdom.

We all have the option of seeking what appears to be more desirable on the other side. But perhaps the best thing to do is enrich what you already have. The grass may still look comparatively more green from your neighbor’s perspective, but it will also look more green overall.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

PS: if you add clover to the grass it may appear even greener, especially if they’re four-leafed!
